Syrian insurgents threaten to kill Iranian media staff

Insurgents clash with Syrian Army forces in the center of Syria's restive northwestern city of Aleppo on July 25, 2012

Syrian insurgents have publicly threatened to target Iranian media staff in the crisis-hit country over their factual coverage of ongoing clashes in the restive northwestern city of Aleppo,
Press TV reports.

Top insurgent leaders on Thursday made death threats against the director of Arabic-language Al-Alam news network in Syria, Hossein Mortada, and gave similar warnings to Maya Naser, who is the local correspondent of English-language Press TV news network in Aleppo.

The death threats come as Syrian insurgents and their advocates are angry at the channels' coverage of the events in Syria.

Meanwhile, Syrian security forces are preparing to launch a massive operation to clear the northwestern city of Aleppo of insurgents.

Three reinforcement teams are being sent to Aleppo in order to eliminate the foreign-backed insurgency and restore security to the restive Syrian city.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011, with many people, including large number of security forces, killed in the turmoil.

While the West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of the killings, Damascus blames outlaws, saboteurs and insurgents for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.

Syria: Shameful Performance of Western Media

The performance of the Western media (American, British, French and others) regarding the Syrian conflict has been quite shameful. One does not expect much from American media. Ill-informed foreign editors and correspondents and political cowardice turn American media into tools of US foreign policy.
This is especially true when it comes to coverage of the Middle East, where extra political courage and uncharacteristic level of knowledge and expertise are rather rare even though they are essential in challenging US foreign policy. But when it comes to Syria British media – including the liberal Guardian which has often been brave in challenging Western foreign policies and wars – have been indistinguishable from American media.
These media have failed their readers on many levels. Their shortcomings can be summarized as follows:
1. Resorting to methods of documentations that are never accepted when covering the Arab-Israeli conflict; like the reliance on accounts of people through skype and emails whose names are not obtained through a random process and the reliance on Saudi or Qatari press media offices.
2. Hiding behind the cliché that “the Syrian government does not allow journalists in” to justify the various anthologies of errors contained in media reports. Many journalists have either been allowed in or have managed to sneak in, so the general disclaimer used daily in the New York Times is inaccurate and misleads readers. Such a disclaimer is never used against Israel, which imposes rigid forms of censorship on reports emanating from Israel, especially when Israel is perpetrating its regular war crimes and massacres.
3. The reliance on exile Syrian opposition reports without any scrutiny or healthy skepticism.
4. The assumption that Saudi-funded or Qatari-funded media outfits don’t carry the agendas of those governments.
5. Obscuring on purpose the heavy role of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Syrian exile opposition in order to project a deceptive image of a secular opposition.

The Most Hated Woman In America.

Christian Leader William J. Murray: Son of Atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair:

Murray Wants to Tell of the Hope He Finds in Jesus Christ

Imagine you are a little child again. How would you feel if your mother ran a business and often hired convicted murderers to work for her and was proud of it? Suppose one of the convicts working for your mother stole a large amount of money from her business. Imagine she also cheated on her Federal Income Tax, stole from her own organizations, and printed phony stock certificates, in an attempt to take over other atheist companies. How would you feel if your mother often spent her days in an X-rated movie theater, was the only woman in the theater watching the movies, and boasted about her attendance? Suppose she was even proud to write articles for pornographic magazines. Do you think you would ever want to invite one of your friends home for a meal?

William Murray, a devout Christian, and the son of the late famous atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair, doesn't have to imagine. The founder of the Christian ministry, The Religious Freedom Coalition, makes these charges about his mother on his official website, http://ww.wjmurray.com. He claims the charges are true, based upon personal knowledge. Although he expressed regret in his belief that his mother never became a Christian before her murder, he nevertheless claims she "led many to hell. That is hard for me to say about my mother, but it is true."

Double standard of mainstream media

RTAmerica | January 31, 2011 - Similar protests are treated differently in the American mainstream media. RT's Anastasia Churkina takes a look at why riots are seen as "democracy" in Egypt, and "chaos" in Britain.

Who is setting the news agenda in the west?

The western main stream media (MSM) was attempting to use facebook messages & twitter to 'sell' the green revolution. MSM alledged that tweets &  facebook messages were coming from the crowds in the protest itself. Yet citizens of the world were not keen to 'buy' those news. They know that the MSM were acting to the fancies of their masters.

In the case of the 'burning man' and 'Egytian puppet' revolutions - tweets &  facebook messages were actually coming from the crowds there, yet the MSM were slow to react, of course the whole world knew that, it was working the bidding of their masters. The throne at stake belongs to the clients of the arrogant powers! So was the apparent lackadaisical MSM response, MSM do not dare to play an active role.

Thus the social media (SM) come to the rescue. But these SMs are also doing the MSM a favour and more vocal at it,as time passed by, such as the of naming the revolution as "pro democracy". Take off your straight jacket and throw away your narrow vision. To be precise let me name your one channel, American based is the main culprit - "Democracy Now". What democracy are these SM talking about? Wake up, "your democracy" is the problem - not the solution! Yes those revolutionaries want to choose their own leaders - that the democracy they wanted. They do not want "American Financial Capitalist Democracy". Look at the students and workers in Europe - they have taken to the streets in rejecting "American Financial Capitalist Democracy". Now get off your "pro-democracy" tirade - stop selling "American Financial Capitalist Democracy"... all of us know what those people in the protest want - to kick out those Foreign Leaders Lackeys - Mubarak and the likes out of their offices and get a more people friendly, concerned leaders.

29 January 2011 : Vyonne Ridley : Who is setting the news agenda in the west?
The disparity of the treatment of news stories in the western media and their so-called government propaganda are raising questions among the critical public which is becoming more aware of major stories through social networks and citizen journalism.

In this edition of The Agenda the question is: Who is setting the news agenda in the west?

Another scandalous plea bargain using WikiLeaker to get WikiLeaks!

Freed on bail – but US steps up efforts to charge Assange with conspiracy
Accused soldier offered plea bargain if he names WikiLeaks founder

US authorities have stepped up their efforts to prosecute Julian Assange (pic) by offering Bradley Manning (pic), the American soldier allegedly responsible for leaking hundreds of thousands of government documents, the possibility of a plea bargain if he names the Wiki-Leaks founder as a fellow conspirator.

The development follows claims by Mr Assange's supporters that a grand jury has been secretly empanelled in northern Virginia to consider indicting the WikiLeaks chief. But the US Justice Department has refused to comment on any grand jury activity.

As Mr Assange arrived last night at the East Anglia mansion after his release from a London prison on bail, he said he considered the threat of US legal action to be "extremely serious" even though "they have yet to be confirmed". He told Sky News: "We have heard today from one of my US lawyers that there may be a US indictment for espionage for me coming from a secret grand jury investigation. "There are obviously serious attempts to take down the content by taking us down as an organisation and taking me down as an individual."
